Why seal your driveway in Connecticut?
Freeze–thaw cycles, road salt, UV and water break asphalt down every year. Sealcoating slows oxidation, keeps water out of small cracks before they turn into potholes, and brings back a deep black finish. We recommend resealing every 2–3 years, depending on weather, traffic and the condition of the asphalt. For more, read why it pays to seal your driveway before winter.

A final walkthrough with you when the job is done
Crack filling and small repairs
Cracks are where water gets in, so where your driveway has them, we fill them before sealing. Crack filling is quoted separately, and we’ll show you where it’s needed. Crack sealing blocks moisture from reaching the base and helps prevent potholes and alligator cracking. Larger failures, like sunken areas or broken-up pavement, need patching or repaving rather than sealcoating, and we'll tell you honestly which one your driveway needs.
We use a hot-pour rubberized crack filler. More on our crack filling service.
When we can seal
We seal from late March or early April through October or November. Sealcoating needs dry pavement and good drying weather for at least eight hours afterward, so we schedule each job around the forecast. New asphalt has to cure for at least 30 days before it can be sealed. A standard driveway is usually sealed in a single day.

How much does it cost to seal a driveway in CT?
The price of driveway sealcoating depends on the size of the driveway, how many cracks need filling, any patching, and how much cleaning and edging it needs. Since no two driveways are the same, we price every job on a free on-site visit, not a guess over the phone. Request a free quote and we'll email you an exact price.

Is it worth sealing an asphalt driveway?
For most asphalt driveways in Connecticut, yes. Sealcoating is low-cost asphalt maintenance compared with asphalt repair or driveway resurfacing later. It slows oxidation, keeps water out of driveway cracks, and protects the surface from road salt and oil and gas drips. It won't fix a driveway that's already breaking up: sunken areas, potholes and wide cracks need patching or repaving first. Request a free quote and we'll tell you which one your driveway needs.
What is the best time to seal an asphalt driveway?
Our sealing season in Connecticut runs from late March or early April through October or November. Within that window, the best day is a dry one with good drying weather afterward, and we schedule each job around the forecast. New asphalt needs at least 30 days to cure before the first seal coat. After that, reseal every 2–3 years, or sooner if you see fading or new cracks. Request a free quote to get on the schedule.
Can I seal coat my driveway myself?
You can buy driveway sealer at a hardware store, and some homeowners do. The difference with a professional job is the prep and the product: we clean and edge the whole surface, fill cracks with hot-pour rubberized crack filler where they need it, and apply Neyra Tarconite, a professional-grade sealer, by squeegee and spray. DIY sealer is usually thinner, and skipping crack filling leaves the cracks open underneath the new coat. Get a free quote to see what a professional job costs for your driveway.

Driveway sealing FAQs
How long before I can drive on my sealed driveway?
Keep cars off for at least 72 hours, and longer in cool, humid or shaded conditions. Trucks, trailers and other heavy vehicles may need longer, because they put more force on the fresh coat. For the first two weeks, don’t turn the steering wheel while the car is standing still. See our post-sealing instructions for the full list.
How often should a driveway be sealed?
Every 2–3 years for most driveways, depending on weather and traffic.
Can you seal a brand-new asphalt driveway?
New asphalt needs to cure for at least 30 days first.
What if it rains after sealing?
We schedule every job around the forecast, because fresh sealer has to be protected from rain and sprinklers while it cures. If rain does mark the fresh sealer, call us. It’s covered by our warranty, and we’ll come back and touch it up.
How late in the year can you seal?
It depends on the temperature and the forecast, not a set date on the calendar. Sealer needs dry pavement and good drying weather, so our season runs from late March or April through October or November. If you’re hoping to get in late in the season, request a quote early and we’ll tell you what’s possible.
Is crack filling included?
It’s quoted separately when your driveway needs it. Many driveways do, and we’ll show you where on the site visit. More on our crack filling service.
Do you seal commercial parking lots?
Yes. We sealcoat, crack-fill and stripe lots for businesses, condo associations and multi-unit properties. See our commercial parking lot page for details.
