Preparing for Your Driveway Sealcoating Service

Proper preparation and curing time are essential for achieving the best possible finish. Please review these requirements before scheduling your service.

Before We Arrive

Remove all vehicles, garbage cans, toys, equipment, and personal belongings from the driveway.
Turn off sprinklers that could wet the pavement before or after application.
Make sure our crew has clear access to the entire work area.
Keep nearby windows and doors closed during application if you are sensitive to strong odors.

Weather and Scheduling

Sealcoating requires dry pavement, suitable temperatures, and a favorable forecast. Rain, high humidity, cool temperatures, or other weather conditions may require us to adjust your service date.

Final scheduling is based on both our availability and the forecast.

After Sealcoating

Keep people and pets off the freshly sealed surface until it is dry.
Wait at least 48 hours before allowing standard passenger vehicles onto the driveway.
Wait at least 72 hours before allowing heavier vehicles, including delivery vans, moving trucks, landscaping vehicles, and garbage trucks.
Cure times may be longer during cool, cloudy, humid, or heavily shaded conditions.

Protecting the New Surface

During the first several days after reopening the driveway:

Avoid sharp turns and hard braking.
Do not turn the steering wheel while the vehicle is stationary.
Drive slowly and carefully when entering or leaving the driveway.

These actions can leave tire marks or damage sealant that is still curing.

What to Expect

Driveway sealant has a noticeable odor during application and the initial curing period. This is normal and will gradually dissipate. We recommend limiting activity near the driveway and keeping nearby windows and doors closed during application.

Following these instructions will help protect the newly sealed surface and provide the best possible results.
